Infrastructure regulation and trade: making the link

  • [View]

For the second year in a row, UNCTAD, the United Nations agency dealing with trade and development, conveyed a multi-sector expert meeting to discuss the need for shared thinking between the sphere of international trade negotiations and that of financial and utility sector regulation. At this meeting, Sophie presented the findings of a recent report for the AFD on water sector regulation in developing countries. All presentations are available here; you can also consult the meeting summary report which draws together interesting conclusions on the interface between trade and development and contains a wealth of recent reports on the current status of regulatory reforms in developing countries.
